LCD (Love, Courtship, and Dating)

WHAT IS LOVE?
There are tons of cheesy quotes about love scattered in the Internet. Nicholas Sparks has set up a high standard about how relationships should be like and movie actors have set up an indeed very high standard on how our partners should look and act like. But being a Christian and knowing how our God loves us, our definition of love must be immune to the standards of the world.
Last Saturday, February 1, 2014 we gathered for a very fun-filled and meaningful event: LOVE, COURTSHIP and DATING. The youth were enlightened and reminded about the guidelines on how we should love. To spice up the event, we mimic a talk show. We had our guest speakers that willingly answered questions that were anonymously written by the CYN. Answers that came from the speakers were Bible based and were further elaborated with their personal experiences. It was refreshing to hear their love stories and how prayer and God was a huge factor in their successful relationships. It was inspiring to know that God is writing our love story and preparing the perfect person for each and everyone.
Pastor George preached the word. It covered the elements and kinds of love and most importantly the preaching told us what love is and what love is not. As a youth, we should never worry about not finding the right person or not having the right relationship because God will certainly not let that happen. And from what we had talked about, praying and asking God for wisdom will lead you to the right person.
As a youth, the world introduced us to different definitions of love and it offered us lot of expectations about love, but the truth is…
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.
