CYN Toronto Powerhouse Launching

by Angelique Maiquez
CYN Toronto

CYN Toronto Powerhouse LaunchingHey Toronto! Get ready because the CYNs are not ashamed of the Gospel! Glory to our living God for the privilege to say we have officially launched the CYN Toronto Powerhouse Service in the newly acquired JIL Toronto Cornerstone/International Centre. Truly God is and has been faithful in fulfilling His promises to the JIL church by the acquisition of our new church, and nonetheless by igniting or perhaps even re-igniting a new-found passion within the hearts of His young people to serve within the JIL ministry.

They say that behind every great achievement ever known, there is an even greater story behind how it was achieved. I guess it’s safe to say that this Powerhouse Service is one out of the many great achievements CYN Toronto has ever accomplished and praise Jesus for that! However prior to this great achievement, a chain of events were able to hold all of these plans together to assure our preparedness leading up to where we are today. This entailed CYN's from all over Toronto holding CYN gatherings weekly in the last six to seven years. These said gatherings were held at Glencairn church (or what CYN's called “Toronto Central”), Scarborough church, and Keele church (or “Toronto West”).

The CYN Toronto Youth Management Team joined by Ptra. Jovi, as well as Ptra. Mercy, Ptr. Ronald, and Ptra. Babes
In January of this year, the leadership decided to establish one service for all of the CYN in the City of Toronto under the leadership of Ptr. Allan Pua, four main CYN Area Leaders, as well as with the core Youth Management Team. Since April 20 of this year, we have been holding “CYN Powerhouse Saturday” Services at the JIL Toronto Cornerstone/International Center.

Pastor Jovi Villanueva-Binalla,

“Something About That Name”
to CYN Toronto
Through the life of Pastor Jovi Villanueva-Binalla, the CYN were able to hear a message entitled, “Something About That Name” which was essentially a continuation of the CYN Camp theme, “The Legacy of the Gospel”. From her anointed preaching, the CYN learned that an identity, a character, a destiny, authority are four things that can be found in a name; and not just any name but the name of Jesus. If it wasn’t for the propitiation of our sins through the name of Jesus, Christ’s loving character, the predestined plan to save the sins of all man, and His sovereign authority over our lives, the CYN, the JIL Ministry, and even the current standing of Christianity and all of humanity would not be where it is today. Since we have heard and experienced the power of Jesus in our lives, we cannot help but have this passion to serve and fulfill the great commission in which Jesus commanded us to “...make disciples of all the nations...” (Matthew 28:19) which is integral to OUR name which is the Christian Youth for the NATIONS! As we find our identity in Christ Jesus who is shaping our character through our service, we know and believe that God’s predestined plan for the CYN is being carried out as we proclaim the authority of Jesus Christ over our own lives throughout the nations hence OUR God given name, the Christian Youth for the Nations! Thank You God for the privilege to serve in a church that is born from your heart!

Special Number by CYN Toronto – Alness
Because of Christ’s life-changing gospel spoken through the lives of our Spiritual leaders, God has even put in our hearts visions to plant more soul-winning Powerhouse services in The City of Toronto such as in North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, or even throughout the Greater Toronto Area, possibly in Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville and beyond! I know and believe that God is equipping His servants as they continue to love God and boldly share the Gospel.

Some 150 CYNs including guest Pastors, parents, and CYNs from outside the City of Toronto
Conclusively, we are the Christian Youth for the Nations Toronto, the youth ministry of the Jesus is Lord Church Worldwide. Our mission during our temporary time here on earth is to inspire the youth to live for Jesus Christ and to offer the prime years of their lives in service to God and country. Our vision is to be a dynamic youth movement transforming the lives of young people worldwide through the Full-Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ for righteous and excellent leadership in the church and nations. Though we may struggle in our youth, we are humbly and carefully reminded in 1 Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” Get ready church and nations because we are the Christian Youth for the Nations and we are not ashamed of the Gospel! I am excited to see what more God has in store for this generation of young people. God bless the Christian Youth for the Nations all over the as we continue to devote our lives to Jesus because we know that Jesus is passionate about our generation.

The Legacy of the Gospel - CYN Camp 2013

by Sarah Urlanda

CYN Camp 2013
The Christian Youth for the Nations had its annual camp at the Praise Valley Campsite last August 23-25, 2013. 112 CYN delegates from all over Southern Ontario, including 5 delegates from Ottawa and 4 from Montreal joined hands in continuing The Legacy of the Gospel. The theme verse is 2 Timothy 1:13-14, “Hold fast the pattern of sound words, which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us” hence noted, the LEGACY of the GOSPEL.

Started with Jesus, Now We're Here

The Legacy of the Gospel Camp revolved around building the CYN ministry on the only foundation that will last which is the gospel. For no one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:12).

Legacy is a term used for something handed down to the next generation. We are the legacy of the Gospel, the Jesus is Lord Church is the legacy of the gospel, the CYN ministry is a legacy of the gospel, our mission, vision and core values are all legacy of the gospel and this is the reason we are still standing.

As most CYN campers were born and raised and have grown up in the church, there is a pressure in us that we need to measure up as to what our parents have accomplished in Christ Jesus. We felt it in the messages of the speakers however they did not focus on that but the gospel. To mobilize this generation, and that everyone may come to repentance, the great and magnificent mandate of every CYN is to amaze their generation with Jesus. This is exactly what happened in our three days stay at Oak Lake: Jesus showed up and amazed us firsthand.

The Gospel is Supreme

The topics for the sessions are the following:
Called or Chosen by Ptr. Allan Pua
Church After God’s Own Heart by Ptra. Jovi Villanueva-Binalla
Convictions of my Church by Ptra. Mercy Galera
Christ Alone, Cornerstone (Worship Night) by Bro. Sam Binalla
Comissioning Service by Ptr. Allan Pua

The sessions focused on why we believe what we believe and why does it matter.

In all of these things, young people were shown that the greatest cause to live for, the greatest joy to be known, and the greatest need of their generation is still the gospel. We were taught about the supremacy of Christ in all things, that He is our all-satisfying treasure.

The gospel taught us all about the calling and appointment of the Lord, our identity rooted in the gospel, the commitment to God’s word, the passion to worship and pray, the love for one another, and the heart that burns for God’s mission. Now, we are ready to take JESUS to the mainstream.

P. S.
We also thank our volunteers who helped out to make the camp a successful one, you did not build a foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood hay or straw and your work will be shown for what it is, the Day will bring it to light. (1Corinthians 3:12-13) Thank you for building a foundation in Jesus by showing Christ's humility in your service.
